There may be a time in your life as a owner where you need to know the model number of your console. Whether you are trying to put in a repair request with Nintendo or you are trying to determine whether or not there are available hacks for your console, figuring out your model number is incredibly easy to do. Here's how.At the risk of making your life way too easy, I am going to tell you what the model number of your Switch is. As of May 2018, there is only one model number for the Nintendo Switch, it's HAC-001. Traditionally, Nintendo uses the number 001 to represent a consumer console and the HAC portion represents the Switch. So HAC-001 is the Nintendo Switch consumer console.Considering the history of Nintendo it is likely that we will see other versions of the Switch in the future.

At that time we will likely find that there is a new model number to contend with. If history is any indication, the HAC portion of the model number will change and the 001 will remain the same. All that being said, if you want to lay your eyes on your model number yourself, it's really easy to do. Simply take your Switch out of the dock and flip it over so that you are looking at the back. Under the large Switch logo, you will see some fine print.
Hi.Dont worry I'm not asking you all for your serial numbers on the bottom of your Wii's!What I would like to know is how your Wii serial number starts. Does it include E and U somewhere in the first 4 digits? Mine starts something like this LEH XXXXXXXX,I'm talking about PAL Wii's not NTSC ones which start like this LU XXXXXXXX.The reason i'm asking is that I ordered a Wii from amazon.de mid January and now my Wii has been displaying digital artifacts and static lines (see another thread that I made on this) and being German, I was wondering if I would still get the Nintendo UK support, hence why I'm asking if the PAL serial numbers begin with E something or other.I would greatly appreciate some help,Warmest Regards, lydiachris. Ha!Before I even got chance to reply to this thread, Nintendo Customer Services actually sent me a replacement!I posted the Wii to them Wednesday afternoon via Royal Mail Special Delivery, got to them Thursday morning, same day they transferred my I.D. So I can download any VC games, sent on later that Thursday via Parcelforce 48So that means a Monday delivery for me, unless I can pick up tomorrow if it reaches our depot by then.Talk about good serviceLet's hope this Wii doesn't suffer from the same problem in the near future, have any of you heard of the replacement Wii having the same issues???
So as we all know a exploit that existed till Firmware version 3.0 has been fixed in 3.01. While where is probably noSwitch with 3.0.1 sold in stores to this day , I think it would be a good idea to start a thread where peoplecan post the serial number and informations about their switch consoles to help people buy hackable switches in the future.Version Number:Region:Firmware:System Color:If you know with which Firmware your switch came out of the box, please fill in those fields. As Cyan pointed out, don't post your full serial number. The serial number should start with XAW. The first 5 numbers after the XAW should be enough.Probably even less, but there are no information about how many numbers are important to distinguish between Fimwares yet.1.0.0XAW1000 (3x)XAJ70002XAW7000262.2.0XAW1001 (2x)2.3.0XAW100196XAW4000.

ANNOUNCEMENT Welcome to Wii U Reddit's source for news, pictures, reviews, videos, community insight, & anything related to Nintendo's 8th-generation console, the Wii U. Subreddit Guidelines HOVER FOR MORE INFO.All users are expected to be respectful to other users at all times. Hi, I apologize if this is a stupid question, I searched around but couldn't find much. Is there any way to track a stolen Wii U? I let my son take his Wii U to a sleepover, this was his first real sleepover at a friend's house and he was beyond excited so I let him take it. Anyway, I picked him up and put everything in the trunk, then went to his grandad's house. By the time we got home it was late so I just carried him to bed and figured I would empty the car in the morning.
Well, someone emptied it for me:-( I woke up and found that someone broke in to my car, stealing everything of value. Even his sleeping bag!!! I honestly don't care about anything except the Wii U/Mario kart game. My son is devastated, this was his first console and he absolutely loved playing Mario kart.

I feel terrible. I am not even close to being able to replace it for him, I had to borrow from family to get it for him for Christmas. Is there anyway to track it if it comes online or something? I would be a hero if I were able to get it back for him.Thank you in advance for any suggestions.P.S. I know I was stupid for leaving it in the car. Our neighborhood never has any problems, it didn't even cross my mind. Got mine stolen too, unfortunately never got it back so had to buy a new one. Nintendo can track the Wii U if it makes a download off of the eshop.
Whether that be a demo or purchase. If you don't have the serial number on you, Nintendo can give you the serial number over the phone if you can remember the NNID that was registered to that console; and from there it could possibly be tracked by giving the serial number to police. If it ever gets sold through a pawn shop, most legit places cross check serial numbers with a police database to find out if an item has been registered as stolen.Hope that helps, good luck. Do you still have the box for the console? Your serial number should be on it (for console and gamepad), and do you have hour proof of purchase (receipt)?Get this information then call law enforcement (police) and file a report.
If you see it being sold at a pawn shop or at GameStop you call the coos and have them get it back for you. Maybe if you feel daring you can look on classified ads (like Craigslist) and go to check out Wii u's for sale and when you find it call the cops to come get it back for you (be careful doing this). If you have your serial # and proof of purchase I would call GameStop and any other big retailer that takes used console trade ins and let them know and give them a serial # and copy of police report if they would like one.
